1) Using IT and e-initiatives to automate the process in as many government services as possible, will make availing government services hassle-free.
2) An important step would be the completion of Unique Identification Number program and integrating all government documents like PAN card, Driving License, Passport, Ration card etc with this system. If this is done, all services that can be processed using historical data from these documents, can be completed automatically. This would also result in reduction in paper works.
3) All services, their requirements and the process should be clearly displayed online.
4) As much as possible, facility to make payments either online or to a specific bank account in a nearby branch should be encouraged.
5) Each service should have proper time frame and should be tracked in almost Real-time basis. Similar process should be allotted queue number for each day and should be processed only according to this queue number. This would stop the scenario of preferential-ism and jumping -queue.
